Fall Fun Runs are Sep 10 through
Oct 29, 2009. Distances are 1-mile, 2-mile and 3-mile. Start time is
6:00 p.m. sharp every Thursday, at Rahilly Park. Note the new
location! The Fall Fun Runs are no longer at Applegate Park, due to car
traffic. For the rest of the year: meet at the
corner of Tuscany Ave. and Reggio Ct. in Merced at 5:30 p.m. on
Thursdays for a 1-2 mile warm-up, a 3-mile fast run, and a cool-down.
Whether you run sub-7:00 or sub-11:00, this is the place to be!
During hot weather we run along Bear Creek in the shade. |
 |
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at
Me & Ed's Pizzeria, 3524 G St., at 6:30 pm., after our Tuesday night
run at the Merced College track. Come join us and meet our club
members! |

What great weather for running! It is not too hot
out there yet. I had a terrific run in the rain just a week or two
ago. There are plenty of runners to train with on our Tuesday and
Thursday night training runs.
I hope you come out for The Udder Run in Hilmar in
June. It is beautiful country out there. The race results
should be available promptly thanks to On Your Mark doing the race
timing this year.
In July we have the Run for Independence, with the
accompanying craft fair and parade. It is a lovely small town
tradition.
Check out the new Summer Trail Run Series that
will start in July. These are four trail races in the beautiful
Sierras, all from about 8 to 10 mile in length. They are listed in
the calendars for July, August and September. Run all four races
to get a special series sweatshirt!
Stay injury free, and have fun, all of you!
Go Long,
Dave Simenson
